Free activities

Bioluminescence and star spotting

You are a walking distance from the best spots to enjoy the bioluminescence. In order to have the best experience you need complete darkness, so find a time when the moon hasn´t showed yet or it´s already gone. You can check times on this website. Beside that, you sould go to beaches as farther from lights as possible. We recommend to get into the water and swim for the best experience.

IMPORTAN!: Do not take any belongins with you. Specially not phones or wallets. Unfortunately your things could be stollen while you are in the water. Ideally you should take only lamp or a headlamp with you. You can hide it somewhere in the beach if you plan to take relaxing night swim

Spots you can go:

Our beach LOCATION: You get to see bioluminescen at the nearest beach, but it has to be with no moon and try to go away from the lights of Nomade Hotelor any other source.

Casa blanca LOCATION: This is a darker beach as there is only one construction in the area

Punta Cocos LOCATION: This is the place where most the paid tours take you. Good place to see the effect but it could be crowded in high seasson.

Punta Ciricote LOCATION:This spot is a bit farther so it would be easier to be on your own. As the is no constructions, it will be dark.

Walking dogs from the shelter

If you like animals and you would like to help the local shelter during your stay, they are open for visits and any help is always welcome. You can help them by: walking dogs, bathing dogs, cleaning kennels, bowls or the courtyard, playing with the dogs and loving them. You can find more info about their work here

Salsa night/ Open mic / Jam session

If you want to practice your salsa or music skills, the bar at the Tribu Hostel has a busy cultural agenda. They have free salsa class on tuesdays at 9:00pm followed by a salsa party . On thursdays you can show you music, poetry or any other other skill at the open mic night(22:00) and on sundays there is a Jam Sessión if you want to join an play along with local musicians (22:00). Check the updated agenda from tribu here

Exercise at the beach

If you like to start the day exercising this is your shot. Functional training right at the beach with a very good coach. Adapted to all levels. Between 2-5 locals go regularly with him (me included sometimes) so it is very small group. It´s donation based. There are 2 time slots: 7:00am and 8:00am (I recommend the first one becaouse of the sun). You can see more pictures at the coach´s instagram. You can just go and jump into the class, but I would recoomend to send him a message the day before just to confirm that for some reason the class is not canceled the day you want to attend

LOCATION: Right at CAPITAN CAPITAN beach club

Volley

Every sunday around 17:30 people gather at Tribu hostel to play voley ball.
